Calling with one of the most unique requests we’ve heard, Honeybee Robotics contacted us seeking a place to test their latest creation – a drill with the capability of traveling to Mars. The production, which took place in late 2001, was truly an experience and caught the eye of local media. As stated in a Cornwall Local article, “The quarry is playing host to engineers from Honeybee Robotics, which is testing a drill that will be used on Mars if the tests prove successful. Honeybee is developing the fully automated drill under contract to the National Aeronautics and Space Administrations.” To download the entire article, written by David Gordon, please click here.
